Are YOU Fireproof

Cathy and I along with Tara and Curtis Marsh went to see the movie Fireproof, and it was an AWESOME movie I do declare.. but don't let me be the only voice, hear what the offical Fireproof web sight is saying!!

Thank You ... Thank You ... Thank GOD!
Throughout 2008, you have followed the behind-the-scenes story of FIREPROOF, an action-packed love story about a fireman, his wife ... and a marriage worth rescuing.

Friday, on opening day, you experienced the movie firsthand. With friends and family, with small groups and entire churches, you went. And laughter, tears, and cheers filled 839 theaters across the country.

Today, as movie-industry insiders look at all of the statistical data from yesterday, they are trying to figure out how in the world a movie they didn't even know about was one of the most popular movies in the country on Friday.

That's right: FIREPROOF was the No. 3 movie in America yesterday! You have thoroughly confounded Hollywood.

Will FIREPROOF stay No. 3 the rest of Opening Weekend? By industry standards, it seems extremely unlikely. The next five movies that finished behind FIREPROOF are playing on approximately 2,500 screens each.

So the key is that people like us keep showing up at movie theaters, both today and tomorrow. Let's show Hollywood that FIREPROOF is the kind of movie you will support. Let them know that this is more than a movie ... it's a movement.

As we found out with Facing the Giants two years ago and FIREPROOF last night, with God, all things are possible ... even in the movie industry. Make that especially in the movie industry.

Thank you! And thanks for continuing to support FIREPROOF on this all-important weekend.

Bubble Bubble Toil and Trouble

Well, we had an interesting night at out house on Tuesday. Seems like Landon has a wee-bit problem not doing as he is told and back-talking.
Normally I would understand being he is still small, but he will be four years old in a few months so we have to start breaking him of this habit.

You see Tuesday night, Cathy told Landon it was time for bed and he told her, "Hush! you don't tell me, in fact, YOU go to bed Mommy"!

Well it seems he has been "mouthy" all day so Cathy took him into the kitchen sat him down on the floor and put a drop of "Joy" dish liquid on his tongue, and explain that we don't talk like that to Mommy.

Well, after it was done, I started to laugh to myself, because, Landon is always singing that song "I got the joy, joy, joy, down in my heart"!

So I started singing..
"I got the "JOY" joy, joy down in my heart.

I think he is learning his lesson.

The World Does Need A Hero

You know after allot of thinking and much time in prayer and just looking around at the need of compassion and love for the kids in this community and beyond,.. I realized that even with the negative statements I got from a few people.. The world does need a hero..

Who will you follow in combat?

Who would you want as your Commander in Chief?
Someone who refuses to place his hand over his heart during the pledge to our nation's flag (remember he is a US Senator.........

Or someone who fought and bled for her country?

While the prophet Samuel was young, he lived in the Temple under the spiritual guidance of Eli. One night God called Samuel’s name, but he thought it was Eli. After this happened several times, Eli realized the truth and told Samuel to go back to bed and if he heard the voice again to respond by saying . . .

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening!” 1 Samuel 3:9b

Chuck Norris ordered a Big Mac at Burger King, and got one.

Chuck Norris doesn't worry about changing his clock twice a year for daylight savings time. The sun rises and sets when Chuck tells it to.

If paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors beats paper, what beats all 3 at the same time? Answer: Chuck Norris.

When Chuck Norris was denied a Bacon McMuffin at McDonalds because it was 10:35, he roundhouse kicked the store so hard it became a KFC.

Chuck Norris’ roundhouse kick is so powerful, it can be seen from outer space by the naked eye.

Chuck Norris has never blinked in his entire life. Never.

Chuck Norris invented water.

Chuck Norris is Luke Skywalker’s real father.

Aliens do exist. They're just waiting for Chuck Norris to die before they attack.

The Right Choice

As the son and grandson of distinguished Navy admirals, John McCain deeply values duty, honor and service of country. John attended college at the United States Naval Academy, and launched a 22-year career as a naval aviator upon his graduation. He continued the McCain tradition of service to country passed down to him from his father and grandfather when he asked to serve in the Vietnam War.

On July 29 1967, John narrowly survived the first of many near-death experiences during his lifetime while preparing to take off on a bombing mission over North Vietnam from his ship, the USS Forrestal. A missile accidentally fired from a nearby plane struck the fuel tanks on John's plane and created a deadly inferno aboard the ship. John barely escaped the fiery disaster that killed 134 men, injured hundreds more and destroyed 20 planes.

Instead of taking the option to return home after the Forrestal disaster, Senator McCain volunteered for more combat duty - a fateful decision that stopped the clock on his life and separated him from his family, and country, for five and a half years.

During his 23rd bombing mission on October 26, 1967, a missile struck John's plane and forced him to eject, knocking him unconscious and breaking both his arms and his leg. John was then taken as a prisoner of war into the now infamous "Hanoi Hilton," where he was denied necessary medical treatment and often beaten by the North Vietnamese. John spent much of his time as a prisoner of war in solitary confinement, aided by his faith and the friendships of his fellow POWs. When he was finally released and able to return home years later, John continued his service by regaining his naval flight status.

Senator McCain's last Navy duty assignment was to serve as the naval liaison to the United States Senate. John retired from the Navy in 1981. His naval honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
