Choppers…

I have a friend who can not stand sideburns. Or what I like to call “chops” I have been thinking about this for quiet sometime now. You see, I have started to grow me some chops. They are not as bushy as they can be. I am trying to see how they look with a post-modern baldness pattern hair style.
You know, chops can be quiet dapper. You can, if you want, connect them to a mustache or even a “chin-less” beard.
So to my friend and all the people all around the world, take from me parents just don’t understand.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame…..

Today I went with the Jr. and Sr. High youth group to the Cincinnati Reds baseball game. They were playing against the Chicago Cubs. Despite the cold weather, it was a fun time. I think Brady really enjoyed himself.
The best part was in-between innings, they would play music, and I got to get up and dance!
I hope I made ESPN.. ‘Cause I had some AWESOME moves.. I should be on Soul Train.

I received a couple of encouraging emails from some friends of mine tonight (thanks Cindy and Margaret). It was really nice to see that people do care what I do. I know I am a goofy person a lot of the times. But I also know that God has given me a gift. The ability to reach lost souls with humor and honesty, I know I am not a gifted writer or speaker. And I know am definitely not a singer. But to hear people tell me they appreciate what I do for their children makes me feel just as special. With that in mind, I found this video from a movie called Casper the Friendly Ghost. I like the song and I thought it would be cool to post it and say, “Thank you to everyone who reads this blog and I am glad I can make you smile. PS. I think this is going to be the week. Cathy went to the movies with her friend and everyone says you have a burst of energy before it happens.

Signal Ready

When I was stationed in Germany, I had a friend. Her name was Margaret. It was funny how we met. I have to share this story. When you are in the military you have your last name on your uniform and every one calls you by your rank and last name, for example I was known as “Specialist Love” not Lonnie. So when my friend Margaret (AKA- Specialist Andrews) showed up at the base for the first time. I thought I would be a “cool-player” and introduce my self and ask for her name. When I ever so cool walked up and said I was “Lonnie Love” I asked her for her name. She pointed to her uniform shirt and said. “Da – It is right there.”
After that we became the best of friends. I left Germany in April of 91; I didn’t think I would ever hear from her again. And 12 years later she called me up out of the blue. And we continue to email to this day. So, to my good buddy Margaret. “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!” Oh, and thanks for reading my blogs and making them your “favorites”, who knows, maybe one day I will turn all this into a book called…”Love – Letters”

EWWW.. What's That Smell!!

What makes a good diaper? We have had Landon now for 2 years and we have seen and smell our share of diapers. But today I am wondering, “What makes a good diaper?” With Alexander (Roger Alexander Love) fast approaching, I am wondering if we should try a different brand of diapers. We use White Cloud brand diapers, (I couldn’t find any good pictures of them on the internet. So I will use the Pampers logo for the time being.)
Anyway, White Cloud has been real good to us. They are pretty cheap, but not cheaply made. They can hold a lot of doo-do and a lot of chewed up crayons and others things that the boy may eat. But Pampers have such cute and adorable commercials. So you see my dilemma. Oh what to do, what to do!

These Stouffer’s “Stuffed – Peppers” are the best pre-made, frozen with artificial coloring, sodium nitrate, glucose, Yellow dye number 6, dehydrated tomatoes, and added preservatives, are the best I have ever tasted. MMM MMM GOOOOOOD!!!
I ate two of them back to back.

Yea… I Can Imagine That!!!

I love the History Channel; this is no big surprise to a lot of people. Tonight was the big show down of my boys the Ohio State Buckeyes vs. the Florida Gators for the NCAA Championship. I wanted to watch it honestly, but the History Channel had a special on tonight about Engineering and Empire, “The Pharos and the Great Pyramids” This show was pretty awesome!
So later on before Cathy went to bed, I was telling her about it. I was saying. “Wow, Cathy, it is funny how we think that we are so much smarter today then we were back years ago. We think cause we been to the moon and have the internet we are in a higher class.” She said “Ok?” She didn’t get what I was meaning. So I tried it again. I said, “No, Cathy, I mean, isn’t it cool how they made those Great Pyramids and The Great Wall of China and other things with out modern tools. Can you imagine building something with out any technology?”
Just then she looked at Alexander growing in her and said with a grin, “Yea, I can sort of imagine that!”

Number 21 In Your Program…But Number 1 in Our Hearts

Tonight I went to my friend and fellow church member, Kayla’s (AKA Lois Lane) softball game. Even though her team (Bracken County Lady Polar Bears) lost tonight, it was still a very exciting game. As soon as I got home tonight I had to tell Cathy. I knew Kayla was a good pitcher, but I had no idea that she was so dominate. She would speed that ball down to home plate and I thought for sure I heard the fire trucks follow. Cause she was burning it down the line!!
Everyone knows I am not much of a sports person, I really don’t know the difference between sport things. So what caught my attention the most (besides her amazing arm and how fast she would throw the ball) was her attitude. She would always smile and if she made a mistake she wouldn’t let it get to her. This one player on the other team got hurt and Kayla was the first one there to help her out. In Upward Sports, you get a White Star for “Most Christ Like,”
Kayla, tonight you earned your White Star. I am proud of you! Keep on keeping on

Not Yet

Today we had to take Cathy to the hospital, and I thought for sure this was it. But Alexander just isn’t ready to leave yet. They monitored her and they said she is doing fine. So we came home.

I will post the funny details of our visit next time. I am tired I have to go to bed.

The Mail Man

The other day I was sending out some encouragement cards and letters to some of our students and families here at Antioch Mills Christian Church. Then I had a brilliant idea! I would send Cathy a “Love-Letter” in the mail. But oddly it came back to me. Here is what happened..
I gave a letter to the post man, he put it his sack.Bright and early next morning, he brought my letter back.She wrote upon it:

Got Any Toast?

I love eggs. I like to eat fried eggs like this with some can corn beef hash. Just sitting here thinking about it is making me hungry. I am thinking about going upstairs and making me an egg and toast snack. I would make some eggs and corn beef hash but we don’t have any corn beef hash. I am limited to the amount of “junk-food” Cathy will allow me to buy. So this week I bought some “Andy Capps’s” Hot Fries and Twinkies and Vienna Sausages, a couple of cans of Beanie Weenies, some Soda Pop some Ice Cream cones some Spaghetti O’s (the ones with meat balls) and some Pop – Tarts. so I couldn't buy the corn beef hash.

Check this out... Tonight after Bible study I came home and after putting Landon and Brady to bed I watched M*A*S*H on TV. Afterwards I headed down stairs to “what was once" Man-Land to put some cloths in the dryer. While I was there I thought I would check out You Tube. Anyway, I was at my desk when all of a sudden I heard this…
“Meow – gurgle – cough – cough – spit – spit – hack – hack – barf.” At first I thought maybe Cathy was behind me. (Ha-ha just kidding) But in fact it was one of our cats (Marbles) throwing up some hair and food (other words Barfing)
But the thing that made me stop and think, was that the other cat (Spot) ran over and ate it all up. I turned and looked at Spot and he sort of gave me a “cat-smile” and burped.

Why Not

think sometimes we as “humans” can be too serious at times. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in “the world” that I forget there are some funny things out there. Take for instance this monkey.
I have no clue what he is so “freaked-out” about. Sometimes I can feel like this little fellow. I wonder if I look like that after a “stressful” day.

(Oh yea and no comments like: “You look like that all the time” or “Hey when did the church directory pictures get in” (ha-ha))

Thinking

Well, I am up a little late tonight thinking about some things I have to do this week. I will go to sleep in about 15 minutes or so. But I was on the net here surfing around and checking out some coins and what - not. When I had this idea to look up some old Army Units I served in. I found some pretty interesting things.
So what is with the box of “Frosty Flakes?” I really don’t know. I thought it would be cool to talk about them for a while. I like Frosty Flakes, they are quite tasty. I believe the best part is the warm sugar tasting milk it leaves behind. I also like the fact that it has a nice “crunch” sound as well.

Meal Time Fun

Today Cathy made a spiral ham for lunch with beans and mash taters. I wasn’t really hungry so I decided to do what any mature adult would do. I sat there and made “food –art.” This is Henry; I made Henry out of mashed taters, and bits of ham and added beans for the eyes. Notice the little hat I made for Henry.

Flying Fortress

Cathy has a friend who lives at the nursing home where she works. I go up there now and then and talk with him. He was a B-17 Bomber pilot in WWII. He has some amazing pictures. So I thought it would be pretty cool to make a special post for him.

History: The B-17, arguably World War II's most famous heavy bomber, first flew on July 28, 1935, before a crowd of reporters eager to see Boeing's new bomber take wing. It was dubbed the "Flying Fortress" by the members of the press in attendance because of its (at least for the time) heavy defensive armament. The prototype crashed in October, but because of its impressive speed and handling the US Army Air Corps (USAAC) decided to continue testing anyway. They ordered 13 YB-17s for further evaluation, a decision that would prove momentous in years to come.The YB-17 had five machine guns, room for 4,800 pounds of bombs and a crew of nine. It had electrically retractable landing gear. After testing the YB-17, an improved prototype, the Y1B-17, was built with Wright Cyclone radial engines. Twelve were delivered to the USAAC's 2nd Bombardment Group for trials. One of these was soon equipped with new Moss/General Electric turbochargers that became standard on all future Flying Fortresses. The first production order was for 39 B-17Bs with turbo-charged engines, and as soon as these were under production another order for the B-17C was placed, with seven machine guns instead of the original five.
The RAF received their first B-17Cs in 1941, and were soon conducting daylight raids over Germany. The defensive armament soon proved inadequate, and the B-17's altitude was little defense against the German fighters. Orders for the B-17D were soon placed with self-sealing fuel tanks and more armor because of lessons learned in bombing missions over Europe. The B-17E and B-17F soon followed with larger tail. The B-17F was the first to serve with the USAAF 8th Air Force. After suffering staggering losses in late 1943, analysis proved head-on attacks by enemy fighters were a distinct problem. The final major version, the B-17G, added a chin turret with dual machineguns. This gave the B-17 a defensive armament of 13 guns.
After the war, several dozen B-17s lived on as fire-bombers and aerial surveyors until the last one was retired in the 1970s. Today, a few B-17s have been restored to their wartime splendor. Eleven are currently flying in the United States, one in the UK and another one in France

"Thank you for Loving Me"

The other day Cathy and I were talking, and she asked me if I ever thought I would have three kids. To be honest with you I said, I never really thought about it much. But now that I am sitting here thinking, I think it is pretty awesome. I was going through some internet stuff just surfing a bit before I head to bed. I just got done watching M*A*S*H and Cathy and the boys headed to bed. I came down to “Man-Land” or what it used to be. Now it is Brady’s new room, Landon’s and Alexander’s play area and Cathy’s “Work – Out” world. So while I was surfing the net, I came across this music video. We heard this song before while we were in the car. So I thought I would post it. Cathy likes to read my blogs at work and at home. So I thought this would be nice for her.
In a few weeks (maybe around 2-3) Alexander will be here. I guess I am pretty lucky to have such a great family. Who despite my “goofiness” still think I am a pretty cool dad and husband.

What’s Up Butter-Cup

The other day Landon and I were watching some TV when we seen an advertisement for a Bugs Bunny movie. He started to laugh every time Bugs came on TV.

Is there a point to this story? No, I just couldn’t figure out what else to say right now. Oh I could get into the whole “I think Cathy may have the baby (Alexander) any day now” story. But I will save it.

Spring! Ba-Humbug

I have allergies and I can’t breathe or sleep. Any seasonal allergist out there? I take Allegra in the morning, some kind of nose spray in the afternoon and to help me sleep at night I take another pill. But guess what? It doesn’t work anyway. I am still stuffed up and hurting.

We had an incredible turn out for our closing program. I have to admit, it was an awesome fun time. Just a special “thank you” to everyone who had a part in this year’s Upward Ministry. As we have begun planting seeds in over 140 children and their families, my prayer is that they remember “That Jesus is the way, the truth and the life”

Tonight after our last Upward Basketball make up game, I was in the living room. Cathy was sitting beside me, we had just put both the boys to bed and I was watching M*A*S*H on TV. When she said “Lonnie, lets talk about something.” I was like “ok, no problem, this is almost over."
Anyway when M*A*S*H was over, we started talking about switching Landon’s and Brady’s rooms around so we can make more room for Alexander (new edition). She thought it would be better to go ahead and finished the basement and move Brady down there. Brady had mentioned it earlier tonight. I told her that was funny, because Kevin said the same thing, “Why don’t you move Brady down to the basement”? So, that is what we are going to do. For the next few months we are going to remodel the basement and put Brady's new room down there. Now we won’t use the whole basement for him. We still want to have a place for the boys to play and Cathy to do her work-out exercise things. But I am excited now about the project. I went and got out my tool-belt and I am wearing it while I type this blog.

I’ve Fallen And I Can’t Get Up

Well I am back from the “Weekend To Remember Conference,” and it was an awesome event, but I will post more about that later. Right now I want to give a shout out to a buddy of mine who has been sick. (actually there are two friends of mine who are sick, but this buddy (Kayla) reads my blog, I think my other buddy does too, I am not for sure)

I hope we can get a chance to do some shopping on our “Date Night” there is a pretty good coin shop up there. By the way for those who didn’t know I do collect all types of coins from early American history to worldly currency. So if you have any lying around, I will take them.

Healing Rain - One Home At A Time

Tonight, I was just sitting here in front of the computer making sure I got everything done and my ducks in a row before I leave for the Weekend To Remember conference this weekend.
I started to fall asleep and I wasn’t ready to go to bed yet, so I decided to look at some music videos. When I came across this song and video by Michael W. Smith, I’ve heard the song tons of times on the radio, but never seen the video until tonight. It got me thinking about the “marriage / family” conference. And the many, many lives God is going to touch this weekend. As a Minister of Families and Children, I see so much pain and despair in so many eyes of children and husbands and wives. I pray that this weekend that God will move in the hearts of the families that are going from my church. And I even pray harder that maybe one day we as a body of believers can start to change the mind set of this nation and this world, so that we can save a generation, one home at a time.

Weekend To Remember

Well, the conference is now upon us. I am pretty excited about going away for the weekend with Cathy ( I am starting to feel a little over-whelmed and so is she I think). I am pretty sure we are going to have fun, as well as learn about God’s plan for marriage that we can bring back and share with other couples.
What is even more exciting is that three other couples from our church are attending the conference as well. I think the exciting time is going to be on Saturday night when we are let go from the conference early and have a “date-night” Wahoo… I feel like I am sixteen again, and on a date with my sweetie, (except we are both in our 30’s and we have two kids and one on the way (in a matter of weeks), and we both are sleepy by 10pm.)
Either way, I am looking forward to it.

I am in the process of making a candle holder for Cathy for our 11th wedding anniversary I plan on using these power tools that are in my basement as soon as I can figure them out. I do know this much, that the ones with the saw blades, they are sharp when you touch them while the blade is moving, and the other one, it makes holes in things.

My Little Girl (Reesie - Cup)

I am always blogging about my life and my family or my ministry, and even sometimes funny stuff. So I thought I would blog about my dog Reesie - Cup. She is an AWESOME dog. She likes to share my Twinkies and ham sandwiches. I don't worry about catching any germs from her when she eats off my spoon or drinks from my bowl. I know her mouth is clean because sometimes she eats cat litter and drinks from the toilet and we try to keep them clean.

Today, I experience that “Grace” first hand. A young man in my ministry became a member of the family of God! He was baptized today!! (Praise God!!) I am very proud of this young man. He worked hard on his packet and kept seeking answers. I think the highlight for me today was what he told me before I baptized him. “I want to go to Heaven one day.” Smart boy!!!

Well, after Bible study tonight, I came home and put Landon to bed, Cathy was sleepy and she went on to bed. Brady took his shower then he headed to bed. I was thinking of something to blog about. So I started thinking back when I did the “Finding God In The Lord Of The Rings” bible study.

Check this out. Cathy borrowed this movie called “The Illusionist”, we had it for about a week and I finally got a chance to sit down and watch it. Kayla, if you haven’t seen this movie yet you have too!!
This was a pretty cool movie. I was skeptic at first. But I sat down in my lazy-boy got me a soda pop and some snacks and went to watching. I must say, I was very pleased with the story and the special effects.
So all in all, I would give it “Two-Thumbs Up”

A Whole New World - Has Begun

Since today is Valentine's Day, I thought I would show this video. This movie (Aladdin) was the first one that Cathy and I seen on a date together as a “couple” back in 1993. I still remember how nervous I was to hold her hand in the movie. But I managed to "cool-ly" reach for the pop-corn as she did!!!.. I am such a Romeo!!!

Princess

Yesterday I turned 37; yea I couldn’t believe it either. But it was pretty good. I hung out with Landon and we watched the Wiggles when Cathy and Brady got home they made my “birthday meal” …sauerkraut and instant mashed-taters. Then Cathy went to her Bible study class, and after I put Landon to bed. I busted out my DVD of “La-Bamba,” which is a pretty good movie about Ritchie Valens…Anyway later that night I got a call from Cathy’s mom saying that a family in our church had their baby girl, which leads me to this blog…
So, Cathy and I went to Lexington today to visit this new little girl and the proud parents. It was a great trip, Cathy and I talked in the car and we ate lunch at “Backyard – Burger.”
When we got to the hospital and the birthing floor, we got our chance to see this precious little girl, she is so cute. And what is so very cool, is, we share the same BIRTHDAY!!! Oh and Abe Lincoln shares it with us as well.

“I Gots This”

Cathy was still having some contractions today. Not as many as before and she seems to be taking it easy and resting comfortably. We head back to the doctor tomorrow to see what we need to do. (And we are going to take Landon and Brady to their doctor also, Landon is pulling at his ear and Brady says his is clogging up.) I am predicting that the doctor will make Cathy stay on restriction. So we are getting her some oil paints and water color paints and some videos so she can learn how to bring out the artiest in her. I think I did pretty well today. I made it home during the crazy snow day ( I was going only about 25 miles an hour- I had precocious cargo, Landon) I put some clothes in the washer, made dinner, washed some more clothes, did some dishes put Landon to bed, hung out with Brady, Talked to Cathy and drunk me about a Ca-Zillion soda pops. (Ha-ha) Yea I started back on them for a while. I missed being a part of the “New Generation” So anyway I will keep you in form of Cathy’s situation continue to pray for her as we still have 6 weeks to go….

Today Cathy gave us a little scare. She was having contractions and she is only in her 7 month, so we headed to Georgetown hospital. They kept her for about 6 hours and monitored her. She was sent home with strict instructions not to do much of anything. So she is taking it easy for a couple of days till she goes back to the doctor on Wednesday and they tell us the game plan from there. She is doing fine thus far, resting comfortably and the contractions have stopped. But check this out, they did an ultra sound on our baby and they let me bring the video home. I placed it here on my blog so the world can see our baby… Alexander.

From Scorpion Death Lock to spiritual life
January 5, 2005Dove Canyon Films has released a direct-to-DVD production called "Sting: Moment of Truth" -- the story of the spiritual transformation of a world champion wrestling super star (Steve Borden, a.k.a. Sting). In this 96-minute dramatic reenactment of Borden's life, the role of Sting is played by Steve Borden himself. Special appearances are made by Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Jeff Jarrett, Randy Savage, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Lex Luger.
Life was all one big act for Sting, who held the World title ten times in World Championship Wrestling including two wins over the wrestling superstar, Hulk Hogan. He created the most outrageous and bizarre personas he could imagine for his career in the ring. The first was marked by fluorescent face paint and buzz-cut blond hair.
In a later phase, he was a black-and-white "Sting" who descended on the ring from rafters hundreds of feet overhead. He once entered the ring by dropping from a helicopter. His trademark wrestling moves included the Stinger Splash and the Scorpion Death Lock. Stings ingenious re-invention of his character in the ring took him to the peak of the pro wrestling world.
On the home front, however, his marriage faltered on the brink of failure while he took the fast track in his wrestling career - and to a radical entertainer lifestyle. This eventually led to an addiction to prescription drugs. Because he often saw his wife, Sue, for only a day or two a month his world began crashing down.
Frustrated and confused, Sue confronted her husband. They had everything the world had to offer, and they were building their dream house. But their family life was in shambles. "What's happened to us?" Sue asked. "What's wrong with you? I don't know you any more. Steve, are you taking drugs or something?"
"I couldn't lie to her," Steve answered. He admitted he was taking muscle relaxants and pain killers regularly. And he was drinking every day. That confession was the beginning of a process that brought the prideful, self-sufficient wrestling champion to his knees. It was to be the greatest wrestling match of his life and God was taking him to the mat.
God had been planting seeds in Borden's life from the time he entered professional wrestling - his brother's conversion and witness, his sister's conversion, his family's prayers, the witness of wrestler Ted Dibiasi, and the peace and joy he saw in the lives of others who had been transformed by Christ.

Now, the confrontation by his wife he didn't want to lose, plus the fear of life without Garrett and Steven, his two young sons, made his fame and fortune worthless. He was humbled to the point of godly remorse, the kind of remorse reflected in 2 Corinthians 7:10 - "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation..." (NIV).
That was in August 1998. Sting became a new man in Christ and his marriage was restored. Today, he drops Scriptures into conversation as easily and naturally as he once dropped opponents in the ring. He still loves a challenge. But where he once relied on a fluorescent face and shocking stunts, he now tackles each challenge with a firm faith in Christ alone.

Because of inclement weather this weekend Upward Basketball games were cancelled today. So I thought I would do some “hunny-do” jobs, like clean out the heater vents and maybe build something with my power tools.
Anyway I will have to wait till Landon wakes from his nap. That brings me to this video. I was surfing the You Tube and came across some “Sting” videos, (the wrestler not the former singer of Police) anyway I started thinking how me and my brothers would just sit and watch wrestling on Saturday mornings then act it out that afternoon. I remember being banned from watching it for weeks cause we would break something of my mom’s. It is pretty sad how raunchy and sexiest it has gotten over the years. I wish we could go back to the “old days” when it was fun to watch professional wrestling. So I thought I would post this video to remember the good times of Saturday morning and Monday night wrestling.

This song is a good reminder of who, we as Christians, are called to be. Too many people are turned away from Christ because of His own people. Someone out there needs a hand-no matter who they are. Christ loved and called all people, can't we do the same?

Eric (my little brother) used to run off the school bus just in time to turn He-Man on at 4pm, he would sit there with his action figures and watch this show, and then he would get out his Castle Greyskull and begin to relive the show.

That’s A Good Idea

You know tonight after Smallville, I was walking around the house just thinking. I first walked into Brady’s room and talked to him a while and played with some of his toys and gadgets and video games, then I walked into Landon’s room and checked out his cool stuff. He has some cool toys like blocks and “little-people” town things, like an airport, fire house, amusement park, and Noah’s ark.

Then I wondered into the kitchen and got me a frozen sausage and biscuit patty and nuked it for about 30 seconds that is when it hit me. You know what I think is a cool toy, the Lite-Brite

Sneeze

I don’t feel good. I woke up with a cold and now I am feeling achy.
I have been taking medicine all day. I have been drinking liquids. (Not energy drinks-ha-ha)
I am going to go sit in my lazy boy and watch some TV now and let this medicine kick in.

The Memphis Bell

Today, during my day off, Landon was not feeling well. He had been battling a stomach virus for a couple of days and that seems to be done, now he has been coughing. The doctor told us to give him Dimetapp, so that is what we have been doing.
So today while Cathy was at work. I was with Landon. After lunch I gave him his medicine and he crawled up on my lap and he was sitting with me. I put in this DVD called the Memphis Bell. This was about the B-17 Flying Fortress bombers of World War II. This was a pretty good movie. After the movie was over, and I laid Landon down for his nap, I decided to look more into the B-17 Flying Fortress. I was really amazed of the fire power and size of one of these planes.
Boy, our grandparents sure new how to build things then.

“Let’s Go Save The World”

Let me start by saying I know Smallville is just a TV show. But sometimes I like to take a “break” from the real world. Some do it with sports, some with gardening and others with reading or video games. Now don’t read into this, I still pray to my Heavenly Father when I need direction or want to give praise. All I am saying is that sometimes I like to be entertained too. So with that being said….

Tonight’s Smallville episode “Justice” was AWESOME!!!! This was, by far, the best one I think I’ve seen. And Yes, I have seen them all, some more then once (ha-ha some more then twice). I know Kayla my sister and Smallville partner is going to be very pleased with this one.

Post Script – Noticed the colors. They are the colors of the “Justice” team.

“Bad-Boys, Bad-Boys What cha Going To Do”

The other night I had the opportunity to ride along side my good friend Mark who is a police officer. He showed me the inner workings of the police station and then took me on patrol with him.
Man this was the coolest thing I think I ever done. Don’t get me wrong I did spend some time in the Armed Forces defending this great nation of ours. But sometimes they don’t let every one in the Army hold a gun. I guess I was part of that “special” Army.
Anyway I want to talk about this one incident. We, ok He got the call about “neighbors heard gun shots” He looked at me and said “this is it”. Man my heart starting beating and my eyes got all big as he headed down the street with lights a blazing. When we got there he parked his car in a tactical position. But as I started to think. That tactical position had me facing the place the “shots” were heard with a direct line of sight (that means I was in front of a possible bullet). As he jumped out the car ready to take on anything that came his way. I was quickly looking for the door handle to roll my body out of the way. I guess I better stick to Ministry. Because we had to stop at the bathroom on our way back to the station.
Anyway “Thanks Mark” it was pretty cool. Can’t wait till next time

Could You Please Pass The Butter

I don’t know why I called this post “could you please pass the butter” I was sitting here at my desk and thought it was funny. But any way on with my post.

In regards to the last post. I highly recommend Charmin. It has not failed me in the many years of service. To me it is like an American Express Card, “Don’t leave home with out it”.

“Run(s)-ning” On Empty

Wow what a week! It seems like everyone is getting this stomach bug that is going around. I know that Brady had it and Landon had it (by the way, they both are feeling better, I guess it had to “Run” its course) I sure hope I don’t get it.
So this post goes out to all of you who are feeling bad. Just try to relax and let it “run” its course.

Happy Birthday Brady

This Wednesday is Brady's 12th birthday. So Sunday night he had some friends stay the night and they had cake and ice cream, played video games and such and had a good time. He is fast asleep now dreaming of next years big birthday. Cathy and I are truly blessed to have him in our lives. He is your typical pre-teen, and I wouldn't change him for anything.

Band Of Brothers

I was checking out a TV show on the History Channel Called “Band of Brothers,” it was pretty good, it was about WW2.
Anyway at the very end of the show, they interviewed the real soldiers, and this one guy talked about The St. Crispen’s day speech from Henry V and I thought I would blog an excerpt here. Why, because I like it.

I Will Do Anything for Love - But I Won’t Do That

Ok, I am not one to complain openly, but; since this is my blog and it is 11:40 at night, I owe it to myself to get this off my chest.
What is so hard about giving up an hour of your life for service to the Lord? Seriously, I don’t get it! Why do you have to twist people’s arms to get some help within the church? I don’t know who reads this blog but if you do and you happen to volunteer at your church or our church.. Thank You!! And disregard this comment. But if you are reading this blog and you are not giving yourself to serve in some aspect of the church, then shame on you.
So please, make your self a New Year’s resolution that isn’t the same ole “lose weight”, “stop smoking” yadda – yadda – yadda- bologna!! Enhance your church experience, Volunteer.
